↑ this notch is real
Lives in your MacBook notch
Deep focus,
one glance away
Focus Notch turns the notch into a calm companion — a one-glance timer, today’s tasks, real ambient sound, and a tiny pixel friend that works while you do. No windows. No dashboards. No noise.
v1.0.1· Apple Silicon · Signed & notarized · Auto-updates
Everything you need.
Nothing that distracts.
The notch is the app
A Dynamic Island-style pill that hugs your notch. Expand it to start a session, then it gets out of the way — your desktop stays yours.
One-glance sessions
Pick a task, pick 25–120 minutes, press start. A pixel timer counts down beside the notch — visible over every app, even fullscreen.
A companion, not a chatbot
It blinks, wanders, celebrates your finished sessions, and occasionally sneaks behind the notch. Emotion through motion — never a popup.
Today’s tasks only
A simple checklist: title, done, nothing else. No projects, no priorities, no kanban. What should you focus on right now?
Real ambient sound
Rain, ocean, wind and fireplace — real recordings that fade in with your session and pause when you do. Soft chimes, never alarms.
Quiet stats
Daily goal, weekly focus, streaks — in a small native window, only when you ask. All data stays in a local database on your Mac.
Questions, answered
Do I need a MacBook with a notch?+
It shines on notched MacBooks (2021 and later), where the pill hugs the real notch and the companion can even hide behind it. On any other Mac it runs as a slim pill at the top of the screen, and you can adjust its width and height in Settings.
Which Macs are supported?+
Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later) running recent macOS. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens with a normal double-click — no security warnings.
Where does my data go?+
Nowhere. Tasks, sessions and stats live in a local database on your Mac. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics.
How do updates work?+
The app quietly checks for updates in the background and installs them when you quit — or one click from the menu bar. You never have to download it twice.
Is there a Windows version?+
It’s being tested now. The notch experience is macOS-first, but the same focus companion is coming to Windows as a floating top-of-screen pill.
Great work starts here
Install it, click the notch, type one task, press start. That’s the whole onboarding.
